The International Istanbul Jazz Festival offers a remarkable variety of music performed in the lively venues and clubs of the city. The event first took place in 1994 and since then big names have come here each summer to play in some of the most incredible venues in the world.
The bill features traditional and contemporary jazz as well as pop, rock, electronica and world music. Among the many luminaries to have graced the stages of this festival in the past are musicians such as Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and Jan Garbarek.
